If you have - as most of us mortals do - the computer spawned from hell, you will not be able to get "0" latency and therefore suffer the horrible delay. Remember though, that the moment your latency is higher than "0" you will get a delay. However, if you get audio dropout or the audio engine turns off, you need to bump the buffer back to a slower speed. If you can record with no problems, you should have immediate real-time playback as you record. If you are using a computer with a very fast processor and a lot of RAM, open MC, select "options" then "audio." At the bottom of the audio screen is a slider labeled "buffer size" under the heading "mixing latency." Slide it over to "fast" and try to record.

if you are using midi, latency should not be a problem (if you are getting a delay from midi, there is probably an effect turned on somewhere, possibly in your soundcard - check the card settings and write to let us know.) If this is happening with an audio sinal, there are a couple options:ġ. This problem has to do with latency - the amount of time it takes your computer to process the incoming audio signal into an output audio signal. Try going to options/audio/click wave profiler and read help about latency.
